We are the total of our experiences and memories.  It is while we are living our individual lives, creating, loving, and being fully human, that we come to realize that we cannot escape the sum of our total.  We can lessen the effects these experiences have in our lives and also the expectations of others.  We can affirm our own notion of who we think we are, by taking hold of our lives and live as we think we should.  We can manage to forget the past, good or bad, and live as if it never existed or we can use it to create new paths. The artists contained in this issue will give us all reasons to question who we are and if we are living life free of what others think and societal demands.     Valerie Fair/Artist/CEO
